"Wow! Welcome Back!" I hear you cry,"Where have you been?". Maybe I flatter myself too much. You've probably given up looking by now! Anyway, sorry if you've been waiting for new posts from me. It's the 10th Feb & this is my first post of the new year... Happy New Year.."So how have you been?" - Fine actually. Went on a retreat to a monastery and spent a few days in quiet contemplation with the monks getting my head together. Been working on lots of church plans & programmes for the new year. Actually I seem to have spent a fair while planning stuff for my imminent trip to the USA (more later) and also a week at Spring Harvest - a UK christian festival so I feel like my life has been one long planning meeting/ email / conference call.. but I'm really looking forward to both events.
On the family front things are OK. JJ's long run of wakeless nights has come to a close with teeth coming through and general cough/colds so we seem to have less sleep than before. Amazingly, he's just had his 6 month birthday (the other kids wanted to make him half a cake!) The other two are doing well - and have just enjoyed 2 extra days off school courtesy of Birmingham City Council who closed all their schools due to bad weather. Actually, we've had loads of snow - at last a proper winter! I had to walk the last hour home today after the traffic came to a stand still! It's Saturday tomorrow so we'll head off the the park for more sledging, which should be great fun!
"So What's this about the USA?" - well in a couple of weeks I'm heading across the pond with my good friend Jacob Bateson and a team from Vineyard Records to do Great Big God events & kids leader training in Maryland & Los Angeles. I'm pretty excited about the trip as I've never been across the water, and planning to use this blog to keep everyone updated on what's happening - so watch this space.
In the meantime, enjoy the weather & be good.
Cheers
Nigel

Your post came through on a Google Search alert for "Spring Harvest". Always love seeing church leaders blogging! Re Spring Harvest, it is my 20th consecutive year. Every year more stuff to learn and apply. Met my wife at Skeg event in 1989, my 2nd year, her 1st. Kids (8,6.3) now more hyper about going than I am!! Hope the event goes well for you.
Yo Nige
This keeps making me giggle and as there is a vaguely musical element to it I thought I'd share it with you:
Go to Youtube and search for "Back Dorm Boys Dadada" (their version of 'Don't Lie' is my favourite though...)
If it's not quite your cuppa tea just show Becky instead!!!!
Happy jetsettin
Tracy
