He's Arrived!!
Well after an extra week of waiting, today was the day Jonathan James Hemming arrived on this planet! For those who want all the details - contractions started around 2am, we headed into the hospital at around 11.30 & JJ was born just after 1pm. He is 9lb8 and spent much of his first day sleeping & being cuddled! The birth centre certainly lived up to it's reputation - what a chilled out & wonderful place. The staff were wonderful (especially Marion our midwife), to say nothing of the tea & toast on tap!
We're obviously thrilled to meet him and in particular the kids (as you can imagine) are very excited. As I write,he's chilling in the birth centre with his mum - having some well earned sleep!! He'll be heading home tomorrow & doubtless spending the next few days acclimatising to the Hemming household.
