Hey guyz
As you can read in my previous post, life's been a bit crazee in the land of Nigel.
We've had loads on at work, we're still tidying up our house ready for the new baby (due in 5 week) and today's been the first day I've really had to rest in about 2 weeks. I pmentioned about my dad (Roger) & his condition seems to be deteriorating fairly rapidly. He's quite at peace about where he's going, but it's hard to see him in so much pain and frustrated that he can't get around or do much. I've been up to see him twice in the last week and we're taking the next few days and weeks very much one step at a time. If you know him, or even if you don't, and you're someone who prays, perhaps you could say one for him & for my mum, sister & our family! It's quite a tough time as you can imagine!
When I started this blog I was kind of thinking I would have lots of interaction around kids worship - it was all Dan Wilt's idea, but as it goes, I've so far generally just enjoyed writing about what's happening in my life. I'm a firm beliver in the idea that life is a chocolate milkshake rather than a grapefruit. You know - everything mixed in together so it could still go all kids worship. I've also recently discovered myspace (I know I know - I'm so behind the times!) & realised that you can do lots of funky things there with music & graphics. Anyway - what I'm saying is that I'm still experimenting with this blog thing and I'd welcome any comments or advice on how to keep a relevant, meaningful & interesting online presence without being permanently connected to my laptop!!
Lastly - a musical tip. I just bought a Jonny Cash album called 'my mothers old hymn book' Just him & his guitar singing old gospel songs - so powerful!!! It's raw and edgy!
Hey guys - hang loose. I'll be back soon.
Peace
Nigel

myspace rocks! but, i've just joined blogspot too...
i watched Walk The Line again on the flight home from the US yesterday.... such an awesome movie. Johnny Cash = legend.
Mate I've just revisited you blog for the first time in ages. If you're liking the old school Cash you should try some of his later recordings with Rick Rubin - stripped right back down again. I've had American IV for ages with the classic cover of Hurt (Nince Inch Nails originally) but I've just picked up American II - it's beautiful.
Love to you all - looking forward to another Hemming soon!
