If you look at this blog regularly, you'll know that my posts have been somewhat sporadic of late, but as it's Friday evening and I'm sitting outside the kids bedrooms while they go off to sleep, I thought I'd have a bit of a muse!
I've spent the past couple of weeks getting back to normal after having time off for my dad's funeral (see below - RJH). There's plenty to do work-wise as always, though particularly at the moment because I'm expecting to have a couple of weeks off soon because of the imminent arrival of #3 child in the Hemming house. Also, I have some tidying up to do in our house (so what else is new??) so there's always a list of some kind hanging over me - though I'm getting quite good at ignoring that guilty feeling whenever possible!! I'm sure the new hoover needs another outing!!
There's definately an air of expectation in our family and we can see the baby kicking most days - particularly when we're all talking loudly! The kids are excited and often talk to the baby (through the womb wall of course) saying things like "hello baby. it's your big brother/sister here" For myself I'm really looking forward to seeing what flavour we'll have next. Having one of each already, I don't have a particular desire either way, but there's definatley a growing sense of anticipation.
Jo & I visited the new birth centre the other week at our maternity hospital and basically it's like a hotel for having babies. Nice rooms, gas & air on tap, access to the birth pool, visitord & mobile phones allwowed, ensuite shower/bath room, food in the fridge. I think Jo would like to stay for a week, but sadly for her they like to get you out after a few hours.
I've recently added a number of wicked tracks to my itunes playlist - I got an Elvis hits cd for a fiver from woolies & I'm loving Burning Love and A Little Less Conversation. My new found Jonny Cash fascination continues unabated with the Live at St Quentin prison album - what a fantastic vibe, and finally, I recorded Jose Gonzalez off the radio playing Heartbeats in the live lounge & that's really beautiful.
Lastly, the weather in the UK has been hot hot hot for about 3 weeks now and my insistance on the ice machine we bought when we re-did our kitchen a year and a half ago is paying off big time. Actually, I'm sorry I've just realised that this blog could easily turn into an homage to my preferred domestic applicances. Perhaps you could leave a message about your own personal favourite - and tomorrow I'll post a photo.
Peace & Love to all, as always, Nigel

Jose Gonzales = awesome. Do you like Jeff Buckley? if you haven't already, you should purchase his album, Grace.
Fridge Freezers with Ice dispensers are the best, unfortunately I couldn't persuade my parents to go with one. therefore, it's ice trays for us!!!
My favorite is my Gaggia coffee maker - makes great Expresso. Sent you a picture via e-mail
